Under 18s

Anyone signing on who is under the age of 18 must have a Parent / Legal Guardian present to countersign their indemnity form on the day.

Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times at the venue.

Anyone under 16 is not permitted either in the Pit Lane or on the Pit Wall

Nobody under the age of 16 is permitted on site at Bedford Autodrome.

Passengers

The general rule across all venues is that you must be 16 to be a passenger but some circuits (apart from Bedford Autodrome) will permit that to drop to 14 providing the passenger is assessed to be safe i.e. seat fit, vehicles type. Anyone under 18 must have the following to take part:

  • Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to countersign their indemnity form. A legal guardian is a person who has been appointed by a court or otherwise has the legal authority to make decisions relevant to the personal and property interests of another person who is deemed incompetent, called a ward. An adult caretaker for the day or a random relative will have no legal authority over the child unless appointed by a court and therefore cannot sign a form on their behalf to take part.

  • If the parent or legal guardian is not present to countersign the physical passenger form then they must complete the online form below.

  • Any passengers under 18 may be asked to present proof of age i.e. passport, birth certificate, etc. If proof cannot be provided when challenged then we reserve the right to refuse entry onto the event.

Note that event documentation will only refer to the overall 16 year old restrictions, the lower 14 limit is not generally advertised.

Drivers

Full Driving Licence – You can take part in the event but drivers under the age of 18 must be approved prior to booking as we require assurances that the driver has the necessary experience to take part in a trackday for safety reasons. A trackday is not the place for someone who is completely new to driving in general.

Provisional Driving Licence – You cannot take part in a trackday until you have passed your test and can present your full driving licence on the day, a pass certificate does not count.

Senior Race Licence Holder (under 18) – You can take part in a trackday but you must produce your licence on the day, can only take part in the vehicle that you race in and cannot carry a passenger unless it is an ARDS instructor that is Grade A or above. Anyone under 18 must have a Parent / Legal Guardian countersign their indemnity form in order to be permitted out on track.

Junior Race Licence Holder (under 16) – You can take part in a trackday providing you are using the vehicle you race in, email us proof of your licence in advance of the event from the club that hold it and you can only go out on circuit with an ARDS instructor who is grade A or above alongside you. We will also need to know who your instructor will be before the event. Anyone under 18 must have a Parent / Legal Guardian countersign their indemnity form in order to be permitted out on track.

ARDS Licence Holder (under 14) – It is possible for someone to pass their ARDS test as young as 13 but this counts for nothing in terms of trackdays, they must be registered and taking part in one of the junior race series as above before they can legally participate in a trackday.
